LEARNING & HEALTH CHALLENGES '09 is a two day event that is designed to meet the everyday learning and health challenges faced by all of us today. The event will present a complete holistic learning experience that will enable you to achieve optimal health and at the same time excel emotionally, mentally, physically and academically.
The constant emphasis to excel in school, work, sports and career places tremendous stress on both families and children alike. The environment and our lifestyle also affect every child's learning abilities and us as parents and adults in coping with these pressures. Our health takes a tremendous "beating" and we are often so stressed that we do not realize the impact this has on our health. Stress is known to lead to serious diseases like cancer and diabetes, two leading lifestyle diseases that have dire consequences. Both children and adults alike today are exposed to numerous hazardous elements and pollution from the environment that can cause these harmful diseases which affect our development and lifelong learning abilities. Lifestyle changes need to be made at a very young age and we need to equip ourselves and our children with the proper tools and knowledge to defeat any learning and health challenges that would arise.
This is what LEARNING & HEALTH CHALLENGES '09 is all about identifying and recommending solutions for learning and health challenges. Learning is often misunderstood to be only about academic excellence. It is NOT! Growing up and learning should be an enjoyable experience. All of us can achieve the right balance between friends and society. We should be more aware of the environment in which we live in and more importantly be well equipeed to face the changing world.
LEARNING & HEALTH CHALLENGES '09 is all about taking a holistic approach towards understanding what is and what needs to be done. It will cover education, counseling, healthcare, food and nutrition, exercise and fitness, healing and self realization, guidance and complementary therapies that can assist in our life long challenges. There can never be success without health. Our former Minister for Education, Mr. S. Tharman could not have said it any better when he said, "teach less, learn more".
So play an integral role in shaping and nurturing lives by being a part of LEARNING & HEALTH CHALLENGES '09. Your participation is key to our learning and health experience. |
